MUCH needed girl time

Beautiful sunset, cold margaritas, NO KIDS!!! What more could a mom want?

So Jennifer, Kristen, and Jessica invited me to go out with them Sunday night...they must really like me ;-) Since Brian is out of town and my family wasn't here yet, Kristen so kindly offered her husband, Jeff, to watch Luc so that I could go. Well Luc woke up with a fever so I didn't think I would get to go. Kristen and Jeff told me to bring him over anyway...so I did. Luc was completely fine with me leaving him with Jeff too.

We girls had SOOOO much fun. We were like giggly little preteen girls. I mean we didn't shut up the whole night. Sorry Jess but I have to say this. Our friend Jessica hadn't been out with girls in over 3 years...since she was pregnant with her oldest. This was a huge deal.

Jeff did a great job with Luc too. About 9:00, he texted us to say that Luc was fast asleep and that he didn't expect us home until 1:00. Thank you so much Jeff! I much needed this night out. I look forward to doing it again next week
;-P Just kidding....well not really.

Too much partying

Well, I guess Luc partied a little too much Saturday. He woke up early Sunday morning with a pretty high fever. He was fussy Sunday morning but was fine the rest of the day. He didn't run fever any more after that and was happy that afternoon. Here is the poor pitiful baby Sunday morning.

After lots of hugs, clothes off, and Planet Earth, he felt much better

Pool party

Brian I'm sad that you missed the big pool party here Saturday. I was a little worried about going since I've seen the people that hang out at the pool here on Saturdays. Well, I'm glad we went. It was a lot of fun, really good free food, and I met a lot of people. Oh and they were giving out awesome prizes which of course I didn't win. They had lots of gift cards including tickets to ACL. It was the last one given out for the day. Luc made me leave before they gave that one away. You had to be present to win. I'm sure I won that one since we have been wanting to go.

Texas something (I can't remember the name) restaurant catered. They had bbq ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans, rolls, ice cream, and really sweet tea. It was delicious (and awesome because I didn't have to cook for me and Luc).

They had limbo and hoola hoop contests...one for kids and one for adults. It was pretty funny to watch. For some reason, I think it's hilarious to watch big men trying to hoola hoop. Anyway, this lady was hoola hooping while smoking a cigarette. You can't see her real clearly. Had I gotten much closer she may have noticed me zooming in on her.

There was also face painting and a Cartoon drawer or whatever you call them. Yes, I took a picture of our picture. Does this really look like me? If so, I'm really scary looking. Notice Luc's poor little elf ears.

Fun at Caden's Grammy's

Sometimes we head to south Austin to my friend Jennifer's parents awesome house and pool. She is so sweet to let us crowd her house with toddlers and babies.

Here we are last year with 2 toddlers, 2 babies, and 2 on the way.

Look at our crew now. We are growing. 4 toddlers and 2 babies. It is much more difficult to get a good picture these days too! At least, we mommies are just laughing about the chaos.

And Grammy fed everyone lunch! Look at these big kids!

What will next year bring? Get ready Grammy!

Venting about trashy people who never deserve to have children

If you are a hormonal preggo, don't read this. It's sad. Also, don't read it if you can't tolerate inappropriate words.

Luc and I went to the pool today. There weren't many people out there so it was nice and relaxing until....

This family of 5 came in the 2 ft pool with us. They are visiting family here. The dad was thin but looked like he was about 10 months pregnant...this bit of information is important for later. Then there was a 5 year old little boy, 18 month old little girl, a 3 month old baby, and a cute little mama. Anyway, the dad pissed me off so bad that I left because I was so close to telling him off. So here are some phrases that he was using to his family.

I am not at all against spanking...I pop Luc...but he YANKED the little girl up by the arm and spanked her wet bare leg just because she took a ball from Luc while screaming at her. It actually scared Luc to death. He ran to me then sat in my lap for a while.

He was talking down to his wife so bad. She, who was sitting holding the baby and watching their 18 month old, asked him, who was laying in the water, to grab a bottle for the baby. He replied "get your fat ass up and get it yourself, you fat bitch"...in front of his children and me. So she did. This is only one example. He continued to talk down to her, calling her names, telling her that she looked about 15 years older than she was. That was why I described him earlier. He was SO unattractive. She was actually cute.

His 5 year old son was wanting so badly for him to play football with him. The dad said "why would anyone want to play with you? noone likes you.". Finally he agreed to throw with his son only if "he would stop throwing like a girl".

Luc had their float. The little girl wanted it so the little boy said "I'll get it Sister". Dad yelled "do not get that float". The little boy "but Bentley wants it". Dad said "you touch that float and I'll break your finger."

I mean who says these things? An asshole who doesn't deserve a family...and many other things I was thinking about calling him but didn't. Oh my gosh, I am getting all mad thinking about it again. Those poor children. I don't typically wish divorce on anyone but I hope that woman leaves him. What a horrible way to raise children.

Thank you Daddy for being such a good dad and thank you Brian for being such a great husband and dad!

BAMM-BAMM

Luc's hair is getting long. Brian has been wanting me to cut it but I'm not ready. He wants it to be long but he also wants me to cut it. Anyway, I'm hoping it will be curly. I think little boys with long hair have to have a certain type of hair if you're going to let it grow out. I guess we'll see soon since it's finally starting to grow.

"Daddy, you better come home and save me"

Oh I added this picture because it has a story. I grabbed Luc's shoes the other day so we could run some errands. He said "nah" (which means no) and ran in his closet and got these fuzzy hot crocks. He loves these shoes. Lately he has been wearing them around the house and he has to wear them if I make him wear shoes outside. For those of you from church, if you see him in these on Sunday, it's because I didn't feel like a fight.

oh wait

I do have pictures of Luc and Ryan playing Tuesday morning. Luc was asleep when Ryan got here. I had to get toys out of Luc's room for Ryan to play with. Before I openned the door, I told Ryan that we had to be quiet because Luc was asleep. The whole time I was getting toys, Ryan stood at Luc's door saying "Wuc shhh". He had lots of fun playing without Luc snatching toys away from him.

The boys saying "eeeeessssss"

Hard at work

Will he take after his Daddy?

Ryan kept trying to walk through the closet door with this big track. He just kept getting stuck.

Luc wanted Ryan to push him.

That didn't work so Luc was going to push Ryan...until he saw the camera and had to pose for "eeeesssss"

Blessed

Although I absolutely hate being so far from home, Brian and I have met some really great friends since we've been here. We are so blessed to have met them. There is no way I would have lasted so long in Texas if it weren't for all of you.

This week some of these wonderful friends took time out of their busy lives to help me with Luc. I don't have any pictures from Luc's fun days with his friends. Maybe some of them took some that I can steal ;-)

On Monday, Luc spent the day with Caren, Maizie, and baby Anderson. Caren is a baby whisperer. Luc took 2 super long naps at her house Monday. He would never do that with me. Some of our other friends came over to Caren's on Monday to to make a playdate out of Caren's long babysitting day. Luc had so much fun playing with all his friends Monday.

We had plans Tuesday morning to go to church to play with Ryan while his mom ran some errands. I ended up having a pretty tough morning so Kim was sweet enough to bring Ryan to our house instead. He got to enjoy Luc's toys all to himself while Luc napped. Once Luc woke up, the boys played together for a while. Kim was able to drop Luc off at our friend Briana's house for Tuesday afternoon. Briana watched Luc so that I could work Tuesday. He had so much fun there too with her oldest two kids, Bella and Bubba. They have fun toys and a playset in their backyard. Briana also fed us after work. The whole drive home and after we got home, Luc asked for Bubba over and over. It was so sweet.

On Wednesday, Luc spent the whole day with Kim and Ryan. Sarah was going to keep him Wednesday afternoon but since he was having so much fun, Kim just decided to keep him all day. Sarah did come over and help though. She and Kim took the boys to a really fun indoor playground this afternoon. Luc had so much fun with them. When I went to see him on my lunch break and after work, he didn't even acknowledge that I came in.

I was really worried about juggling Luc between so many houses and so many people but he did great. He didn't cry when I dropped him off at anyone's house. I'm so glad that I am able to leave him in good hands with friends. While it does make me sad that he doesn't get really excited to see me when I pick him up, I am so glad that he doesn't mind if I leave him for a while. It would make it so much harder to leave him if he cried when I left.

Thank you all so much for helping me this week girls!

Update for Daddy

Brian this is just for you. We miss you so much! We are both ready for you to be home. I hope you enjoy these silly pictures! I love you!

As you know, Luc LOVES his own bed. When we got home Monday night after being gone all day, Luc ran to his bed and said "home home home..." repeatedly. He wouldn't even let me read him a night night story because he wanted to get in his bed.

This picture makes me laugh so hard. I think he looks so goofy.

I got him these stacking cups the other day. He put one on his head during his bath and said "hat". It was so cute.

"Daddy, I like to swim in the bathtub now." Look at that white butt! I wish I still tanned that easily.

Tonight, I asked Luc to go to his room and pick out a book for night night time. When I got in there, he was waiting for me with his book of choice.

I know Luc misses you too. He askes for you. When Mama and Daddy first got here the other day, Luc ran to the door saying "Daddy". Oh, he also told me that he loves you very much!

Thank you Mama and Daddy

My mom and dad came out here last week to visit and help me with Luc since Brian is gone. Luc loved having them here. He got lots of attention while they were here. They played with him and took him to the playground. I didn't get all the pictures off their camera but here are some from their trip.

Thank you so much Mama and Daddy for coming out here. It was so helpful having y'all here when I had to go to work and just to give me a break. I also had fun with y'all too. We love you!

Let's rock n roll

Brian, look what I stole from Daniel Jones. HAHA I thought you'd like it.

This is from Brian's band days...in college. If I could find the video from it, I'd post that too. All my pictures from this time in our lives were not digital so thanks Daniel!!!

Rock-N River

Today we went to Rock-N-River. Luc loved it. I highly recommend visiting there if you have kids. They also have 2 big people water slides and a lazy river.

We ran into the Smith's while we were there. Alyssa's kids were having so much fun.

Luc even went down the toddler slide...

...with a bit of encouragement

My mom and Luc

The bucket dump. Luc wouldn't walk close enough for the buckets to dump water on him. I doubt he would have enjoyed that.

Swim time

We broke in our pool with some company last week. Kim and Briana and their kids (and Tia Ann and Elizabeth) came over to hang out at the pool. We (and the kids) had so much fun.

I have been very blessed to have a great helper some while Brian is gone. Kelsea is practicing babysitting this summer. She will be a pro by the end of the summer. Luc loves her so much. When she comes over, I am noone to Luc. The first time she came over, Luc pitched a fit when I took her home. Anyway, she's great.
