Bluebonnets, Fun, and Trouble

I've joined the Texas tradition. For everyone at home, people out here will stop on the side of a busy highway just to get some pictures of their kids in bluebonnets in the Spring. We found this patch in a church yard. I don't trust Luc enough to be on the side of the road.
He loved walking through all the flowers.
You can't get much cuter than this
Personally, I think they should be the models for these shirts for Carters.
Luc and Annie were so happy to see each other. I hope their future little brother and sister will love each other so much.
We weren't at the park 5 minutes before I saw Luc laying in a pool of water. He and Annie both ended up running around in their diapers. Luc asked a few times to take his diaper off so he could play naked.
This was such a big hug that they were actually falling backwards here.
And we can't leave out baby sister and brother.
You would think these two would be sweet and obey their poor pregnant Mamas while we're out. NOT! Well, Annie wasn't that bad. I think Luc initiated the bad behavior. He ran away and didn't turn back...and I mean he ran fast, laughing the whole time. I wanted to beat his rear but I kept calm, packed our things, and  we left. Kristen and I decided it may not be a great idea for 2 pregnant, tired Mamas to take 2 very independent toddlers to an open area again...until we can chase after them.

And a fun Monday

Our friend Jessica invited us to an Easter egg hunt at their church this morning. We have been reading about Easter (the kid-fun parts of Easter). Luc has been very excited about making Easter eggs, finding Easter eggs, and, of course, the Easter bunny. When he saw the Easter eggs this morning, he took off running and loading his basket....
...then he realized "oh my, there are fun things and candy in these eggs".
He did pick up a few more but he was more interested in seeing what was in them first. He tried to just pick them up, take the candy out, and throw the eggs back on the ground. I had to explain that we keep the eggs and take the candy out at home.
Here are our kids with their full baskets. It is very difficult to take a picture of 5 toddlers.
Caleb was sneaking into Caden's basket.
Afterwards, we went right down the road to a playgorund for a picnic. Kristen and Annie met us there. Kayla shared her goodies with Annie.
Girls vs Boys
Don't you love his "Big Brother" shirt. Baby brother has a matching one. I can't wait for them to wear them together.

Weekend fun

We took advantage of this beautiful weather this weekend. Saturday we headed to Zilker park to ride the train and play at the playground. Luc loves the train. It's nice and relaxing for us too.

Then Sunday, Luc went with Jamie and Kelsea to a family fun day. I don't have any pictures but he got to do a lot of fun things. I know there was a train there. He kept telling me Sunday evening "Kelsea ride train too". He also met Bevo (UT's mascot) too. Jamie said he wasn't scared of him at all. There were a lot more activities too but I think those were the big ones.

I DO miss my family

My kitchen didn't look like this for 2 seconds when Baboo or Mama and Heather were here.

Back to playdates

Luc and I are so happy that we can play with our friends again. We haven't had a playdate with Ashley and Dylan in months. In fact, I think the boys were babies. They played so well together though. Of course, Luc had a very difficult time sharing his toys...even the ones he NEVER plays with...at first. Every time Dylan went near a toy, Luc ran over, snatched it away, and said "MINE". UGH Luckily, Dylan is a pretty fisty guy himself. Once he warmed up to being here, he fought back. Luc was completely confused. He is not used to someone taking things from him or pushing him. That;s his job. It was so good for him.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with Ashley too while the boys played. Hopefully we'll be able to hang out a lot more often than we have.

Cute things Luc has said lately

Luc has been saying some really cute things lately. Here are a few:

During lunch one day, Luc was closing his eyes so that Baboo and I couldn't see him. While his eyes were closed, Baboo hid under the table from him. He openned his eyes and asked me "where Baboo go?" I said "I don't know". He replied "Baboo go Wal-Mart" and continued eating.

He ran in to tell me one day "Baboo so funny Mama"

When Aunt Heff was in the bathroom, Luc knocked on the door and said "Hedda, you all done in there?"

While looking at the ultrasound pictures of his baby brother last night, he looked at my belly and said "hurry up baby brother". He has been wanting his brother to be born so that he can go to Alabama to see Papa John, Mimi, and Granddaddy. He has been asking to go to "Amamama". We told him we will go after baby brother is born. I'm betting he will be asking at the hospital to go.

Brian got up from the table the other night and left his cup of milk there. Luc said "Daddy, come drink milk right now".

He was jumping off the couch. He said "Daddy, ne tome atch dump" = "Daddy, come watch me jump". He confuses where words should go sometimes.

We have been working on Luc not putting his feet on the table while he eats. Last night, Brian had his feet on Luc's chair. Luc said "Daddy, no feet on tair wight now, otay?".

He sings ALL THE TIME. I have tried to video it but the second that he sees the camera he wants to watch. He mostly sings, "Jesus Loves Me", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", and "Itsy Bitsy Spider". He makes up his own words a lot too. He will sing to the tune of a song but use his own words...or jargon.

He also counts everything from his fingers and toes to how many pieces of meat he has on his plate. He counts to 15 now.

Tunnel monster

Boring Mama and Daddy

Luc has had a lot of fun having company with us lately. Now, he is stuck with boring old mama and daddy.

Here is "Hedda-Heff" being really silly. There will be a funny video of this tunnel monster later.
Heather swaddled Luc like a baby. Now he asks all the time "Mama, wap me ike baby".
GiGi made this cute little tiger while she was here. Luc loves it. He carries him around and says "DiDi make dis for you" (meaning GiGi made this for me)

FUUUN-YYYY

I came across this picture on my computer today. I think this was taken the summer of 2002 maybe. Anyway, these wierdos that lived down the road from my grandparents beach house had this thing in their yard. We sneaked into their yard late one night to take some pictures with it.

These are good friends from college that I rarely talk to anymore. I miss y'all. Oh and yes, the little boy in the red hat is not actually a little boy...that's me!
Baboo got in on the fun too.

Put to work

I have taken advantage of this last week of help that we have. Mama and Heather have done a lot of work this week. They have cleaned, helped with laundry, cooked (A LOT), and even cleaned my car. Thank you for y'alls hard work on your Spring Break!

Girl time

Mama and Heather join me for some girl time this week. Brian watched Luc so we could go have some fun painting pottery. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for going with me y'all! And thank you, Brian, for watching Luc so that we could go out.
I painted a cereal bowl for Brian
Heff painted a mug
Mama painted a little earring box
We'll see how they turn out when we pick them up.

Pool already?

If you know me, you know I'm going to the pool the second I get a chance. Not to swim yet though. The water is freezing. My mom, Heather, and I have been layng out while Luc scoops and pours water. The weather has been beautiful out here lately. I am taking full advantage of the weather and not being confined to the couch anymore.
