Inks Lake camping

We went back to Inks Lake this past weekend for a camping trip with our friends Caren and Jason and their kids Maizie and Anderson. We all had a lot of fun. Luc loves sleeping outside when we go camping. He immediately wants to go to bed once the tent is up. He went right to sleep and didn't make a peep until Evan woke him up the next morning. Evan however, slept with us, pretty much on top of me, and woke up a few of times with a tummy ache. I'm sure it had nothing to do with all of the huge marshmallows he ate right before bed. Even with the pregnancy exhaustion, I think this camping trip was the easiest so far. I didn't have a child crawling or trying to touch the fire or eating rocks or running away too far. I guess we're about to start all over with that though.

There was some serious conversation going on here.

Evan has started walking around with his hands in his pockets. It is the cutest.
Maizie caught lots of butterfly pets.
We found this monkey

There were lots of pictures taken

Luc has begun to try to ruin every picture.

Look at this big guy hiking
Brian rescued poor Anderson from his sticker shoes.

Thanks Ashley

My friend Ashley suggested that we get some caterpillars this spring for the boys to watch. She was sweet enough to catch the right ones and feed them for us. When we first got them, we had 3 chrysalises (I don't know if that's how you say the plural form) and one caterpillar. We left the house for a few hours. When we came back, our only remaining caterpillar had already changed into the chrysalis form. I was sad that we didn't get to watch that process. So this is what we've had on our kitchen table all week...
Then this morning, two of them looked like this. I knew it was close to time but I thought we had a few hours before the next change.
The boys were patiently sitting at the table waiting for their breakfast when this happened. It was very exciting.
We watched his wings grow larger and larger.
A couple of hours later, the other one changed and flew off the table.
Luc and Brian gently caught him and release him off the balcony. The boys were so excited about it.
Thanks Ashley! This has been a fun week.

Horseshoe Bay

My friends Jamie and Lauren invited us to their parents lake house last weekend. They are so lucky to have such a nice place to go in the summer. It almost makes me feel better for being so far from home and the beach house. They have built their own little beach for the kids to play. They have a boat and jet skis. Thank you so much Jamie and Lauren for inviting us to play. We had so much fun.
Lauren's little girl, Claire, is a few months younger than Evan. They had a lot of fun playing together.
Luc is obsessed with this lighthouse. He noticed it last year when we were there. He remembered it and talked about it the whole way there. Once we got there he begged Kelsea to take him over there on the jet ski. He really wants to go inside and "see how it shines" but it's locked.
The teenagers were so sweet to drive Luc around on the jet skis and take him tubing. He was in Heaven. I'm so proud to have a water fun baby.
Evan talked about riding the jet ski but he was just as content watching from the side. I'm sure he would have really wanted to go if I had gone with him. I was pretty chicken of the cold water though.
Evan did get to go on a couple of boat rides. He loved it. Luc addressed Jamie's dad "The Captain". Jamie said her dad loved it. He would go find him around the house and say "Hey Captain, are you ready to take the boat out?"
This boy took a little nap on the boat.
Luc loves tubing. I'm so glad I didn't have to go with him. Thank you Blair and Kat for taking him.

Evan enjoyed pouring water on his face to make people laugh.

Luc was throwing a fit during this picture because he didn't want to leave. These kids are awesome for entertaining my kids all day. Thank you!

Baby update - 16/17 weeks

So here I am last week at 16 weeks.
At my check up today, the baby's heartrate was in the 150s. I am measuring normal for 17 weeks. I've gained 12 lbs so far. I'm hoping I don't hit the 50 lb mark like I did with Luc. The nausea is gone for the most part. I still feel sick if I get hungry or if I am super tired. I haven't been able to eat chocolate or drink coffee, tea, or anything with caffeine really. I had the coffee and tea problem with Evan too but the chocolate is a new one. I thought I was over that so I started to drink some coffee the other morning. After 3 sips, I was too sick to even smell the rest. I regretted those 3 sips for the rest of the day. I haven't had any complications since that first subchorionic hemmorage at the beginning of the pregnancy. I thank God every day for a normal pregnancy this time.

Bull Creek

After church Sunday, we decided to go to Bull Creek....so did almost everyone else in Austin. We were suppose to meet some friends but we ended up at opposites ends of the creek. The water was perfect for the boys to run. There were lots of people jumping off the waterfall. Brian was careful not to fall in this time too.

A couple of years ago, we found the perfect spot for skipping rocks. The boys have so much fun "skipping" their huge rocks.

I guess we skipped 2010. I was on bedrest so it probably wouldn't have made for a pretty picture.

Easter Bunny fun

We had a fun Easter. We woke up to find fun treats left from the Easter bunny.
"Look how cute this bunny is Mama. Can I eat it?"
 "New toofbus Woot"

The Easter Bunny left a few eggs hidden around the house.
"I a mean garbage truck man"
We let them get all hyped up then we dropped them off in Sunday school!
