Bed wetting: Part 1

I titled this part 1 because I know there will be many many bed wetting experiences in our future.

Yesterday, Luc was fighting his nap. First, we put him in bed...he pooped. Brian changed him, rocked him for a minute, put him back in bed. He played for a while then started throwing his fit....I heard everything being thrown out of bed, Luc was hitting the side of his crib, he started screaming. I went to tell him "night night" but when I walked in his room, I noticed his diaper on the floor. He was standing in his bed screaming and looking at it. I picked him up to find no diaper on his bottom, wet clothes, wet legs, wet sheets, wet blankets. As frustrated as I was that he was fighting his nap so much, I couldn't help but laugh at this big mess. I'm sure I won't think it is so funny next time it happens.

Oh, after he fought sleep for about an hour and after I cleaned him up, he finally passed out.

Where has time gone?

How did Luc go from this....

to this....

so fast.

Luc's friends

We had lunch at our friend Caren's house this week. We had delicious spaghetti which Luc loved. Luc loves anything that I am eating by the way. If I fix him his own, spaghetti for example, he won't eat it. I have even cut up some for him and fed it to him from his own spoon. He just spits it out. Then I can give him the same spaghetti, cut up from my plate and he asks for more. He even loves cooked onions and celery if I am eating it too. Silly boy.

Anyway, here are the few pictures I have from Thursday. My camera's batteries were trying to die on me.
Baby Anderson was so sweet while everyone was there.

Ally being really sily. She kept looking at me making a silly face. It was so cute.

Ryan pushing Luc in Mazie's baby stroller.

Ryan getting mad that Luc was in his stroller.

First black eye

All in one week Luc busted his lip, hit the bridge of his nose and bruised it, and got a black eye. His poor little eye was the worst of all...although his lip did bleed for a while. It's tough learning to balance and walk.

Here's how he got the black eye. He was walking/running to the coach. When he got close, he leaned to hold on to it. He misjudged his distance and hit the wood at the bottom of the couch. He actually only cried for a minute. He didn't even want to be held and loved on very much afterwards. I still felt so bad. His little eye looked so bad.

Luc's love for avocados

Luc LOVES avocados. When he was really little, I would mush them up for him. Now I cut them up in bite size peices. They are a perfect finger food and healthy too but they can get very slippery.

Climber

Luc has been trying to crawl up on the couch and on the ottoman. The other night he was very persistent about it. He grabbed my arm so that I would help him up.

Caden and Luc

Today Jennifer brought the boys over to play. Luc had been in such a crabby mood all morning but he was happy when Caden was here playing. We threw Luc and Caden in the tub with the "bag of balls". Luc wasn't real thrilled but Caden loved it. In fact, he was very sad to leave. I didn't get a picture of the sweetest baby in the group. Caleb was so happy and peaceful. By the way Jennifer, when you left Luc because demon child again. I should have just sent him with you. ;-)

Playing with Manika and Jatin

We met a couple who lives here at our apartment complex. They have a baby who is 5 days older than Luc. We see each other anytime a social event is going on and we sometimes go for walks together. Today Luc and I went over to their apartment for some playtime. The boys had fun together.
Jatin, who is 5 days older than Luc

Luc found a friend who will fight back. Jatin is used to having to fight his sister for toys. When Luc would snatch a toy from him, he would yell and snatch it back. Go Jatin!

Jatin happy with his mom

Luc crawled up to the swing so Sakshi (Jatin's mom, I'm sorry if I misspelled your name) put him in it. He looked so big in the swing but he loved it.

He thought Manika was so funny. She was playing peek-a-boo with him.

Look what I found in my kitchen

Brian was watching Luc today while I was talking to EBS. When I got off the phone, I noticed I didn't hear a peep out of Luc. If you've been around kids, you know that if you don't hear them and you know they are awake, you've got trouble. I went in the kitchen to find this.

I said "Luc, what are you doing?"
He just looked up with the biggest smile...like he was so proud of himself. I must say I was pretty impressed. He took the box out of the cabinet, openned it, took out the bag, then dumped it all on the floor. We're going to have a little troublemaker.

What Luc has been up to

He puts anything in his mouth. He just holds it there and goes about his business playing. Brian says he will hate me one day for these pictures of him chewing on nursing pads.

Target had an awesome clearance last week. We got a big bag of balls for $3. He LOVES them. I put him in the tub and dumped the whole bag...175 balls...on top of him. He thought it was so much fun. A great idea if you don't have room for a ball pit to go with the balls.

Playing with Mommy and Daddy

Playing with Mommy and Daddy is so much fun. Daddy uses me as a bench press and Mommy flips me upside down. My mommy and daddy are the coolest ever.

Thursday lunch and playdate

This week I hosted our Thursday lunch. We had a house full of babies and toodlers. It was a lot of fun. We had a yummy meal. We got to enjoy spending time together. While the kids had lots fun playing. Everyone was very good. Luc actually shared his toys with Ryan, Wyatt, Haley, and Mazie.

Luc and Mazie found things to chew on

The newest babies of the group, Katelyn and Anderson, sleeping

Ryan loved Caren's spinach dip

Kim got to practice handling two kids at once. Luc loves Kim and wanted her to hold him. Mazie needed Kim's help drinking from her sippy cup.

Little busybodies playing. They had so much fun. They really played well together.

Me making baby Anderson very angry

Then he burped

I should have pulled his pants legs down. Poor little man looks like a flood's coming.

Luc found Miss Kim again

Mazie decided she'd lay down for a nap

Lots of videos

Luc has his own way of signing "more". He also signs "all-done" when he really wants to get out of his seat or out of the tub.

Little Piggy!

Eating his cookie and asking Brian for more.

Luc being super silly after supper. He thinks it is so funny to scare us. Watch his eyes when he is laughing. He does this funny laugh and squints his eyes when he is in silly mode. It is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

No more thyroid and no cancer

I had my thyroid removed on Monday. Everything went well and I came home on Tuesday. The nodule on my thyroid gland was NOT cancer. That's great news. I'm glad that it is gone so we don't have to worry about that anymore.

Brian, Luc, and I thank everyone who prayed for us. We also thank Mama and Baboo for driving 700 + miles to be here during the surgery. I am really glad that Brian didn't have to wait in the waiting room alone while I was in surgery. And thank you so much, Sarah, for watching Luc so that they could be at the hospital.

Mama took pictures while I was in the hospital. I did not ask the doctor to take pictures during this surgery like I did my bunion surgery. I am not posting all the pictures Mama took. They are too beautiful to post.
Waiting not so patiently...I was STARVING

I wasn't quite so hungry afterwards

Luc was very good. He had lots of fun riding down the halls in wheelchairs and desk chairs with my mom. He did very good Monday. And he and Brian made it through their first night alone. Brian did great. Luc sleep well Monday night...so I hear. I couldn't hold him on Monday because he wanted to pull the drain out of my neck. He was very happy to be able to nurse on Tuesday.

I am doing fine now. My neck is a little stiff but that is because I haven't been moving my head around much. My throat was really sore Monday and Tuesday but it is much better today.

Close to walking

Luc has been letting go of things and walking by himself lately. He is getting pretty good at it. I think the most steps I've seen him take is 6. He usually walks along the coffee table or wall then lets go to walk to his toys.

Ways to carry toys

Here is how Luc gets around with his toys and cups for now. He has been trying to walk lately so this may not last long.

Mr Explorer

I walked in the kitchen the other day to find Luc in the pantry cabinet. Later that evening he crawled into another cabinet...after he emptied it to make room to fit in there. He went back and forth between the cabinets throwing everything out and crawling in.
