Playdate while traveling

Playdates are one things that Luc really misses while we are away from home. He really misses playing with his friends. He often asks to play with one of his friends. I always have to try to explain that they are very far away. One of my best friends brother and sister-in-law live here in Madison now. We went over to play and swim in their awesome pool. Luc had so much fun with Parker. And I had so much fun catching up with Summer and Jay. By the way Summer, Luc wanted to come over again as soon as he woke up this morning.

These are my attempts to get a picture of the boys together.
Parker posing very cute...Luc, I have no idea what kind of expression this is
Pretty sure Luc was ready for a nap and Parker was still partying
Thanks Summer for letting us swim and wreck your house!

Space and Rocket Center

I have been wanting to go to the Space and Rocket Center since before Brian and I were dating. After we started dating, I thought I would definitely get to visit. Brian didn't think it was very cool so he never wanted to go. Lucky for me, his dad had never been either and wanted to go. I thought it was pretty cool but it will be better when the boys are older. There were a few things to entertain them though.

This would have been really cute if the sun hadn't been glaring through the huge window and if my kids had cooperated.

 In the Apollo
At one time during the day, Luc said "When I grow up and be a astronaut...." It was so cute.

I hesitated letting Evan ride this ride. The girl working assured me that it was okay for him to ride. Since he insisted on going with Luc, I let her put him on.
Once they started going up, I realized this was a terrible mom decision. I felt like a terrible mom for letting my 15 month old ride on something like this. He was fine and fussed once during it but still...
If they get this T-Rex completed, it will be the largest K'Nex sculpture

Fun in Madison

We've been at Brian's parent's house this week. The boys have had a lot of fun playing in the yard. I can't wait until we have a yard for them to run around in.

Luc getting ready for a lawn mower ride

Luc was driving all by himself
They ran in the sprinklers. Luc had fun running through the water. Evan wasn't quite sure about it.
They played in the little pool every day.
 We washed cars.

Luc would run all the way across the yard then jump in the water. Evan would run behind Luc, stop at the edge of the pool, then crawl in.

Obviously...we aren't in Austin anymore

Our last stop was Rock City. We stopped in the Rock City Grill for lunch. Just as we were about to hike around, these wet drops began falling from the sky. You would think these boys had never seen rain before. They had so much fun.
Until Luc busted it. We decided that it didn't hurt him but he got really embarrassed. When we fell, about 6 other tourist said "AWWWW". He looked around then dropped his little head.

Evan thought it would be fun to just lay in this puddle.
When limestone rocks get wet, it gets very slippery. We started our hike. I slipped on the first step but caught myself. As I was saying that I should take my flip flops off and walk barefoot, we heard a pop. Allison had slipped on that same step. Her ankle immediately started swelling up. We headed back to Madison with the boys. Allison and her parents headed to the hospital. It turned out to be a really bad sprain. She's better now but still hurting.

We had a great mini vacation. Thank you so much for taking us MeMe and Granddaddy! It was really awesome!

Ruby Falls

This was probably my favorite part of the trip. Ruby Falls is a 1,120 ft deep cave with a beautiful 145 ft tall waterfall inside. I think the story behind how it was found was fascinating. It would be so awesome to be exploring and come upon something so beautiful. I know the guy who found it didn't have the lights that we had and probably had no idea how large it was, but how cool.

Note to self: don't take a baby on a cave tour

If you look to the right of the "turtle" sign, you see a turtle. There were lots of look-alike objects pointed out.

Obviously I had my camera set on some crazy setting. I'm really p.ed about all of these pictures.

this picture makes me want to say "AHHHH" in an angelic voice or something
