Weegle Weegle WAAAAARRRRR EAGLE!!!

We kicked off football season with our annual SEC picnic at Zilker Park. We had a much smaller group this year than the past couple of years. We still had a lot of fun though. Brian and Bret were temporary horseshoe tournament champions. Someone else went home with the trophy though. I didn't get pictures of the horseshoe tournament this year since I was busily chasing Luc around.

Of course last year, Luc couldn't enjoy the kid activities. This year he loved it. He didn't even care that the big kids were wrestling and knocking him down in the bouncy house.

There is a family there with a little boy exactly one year older than Luc. Our first year here, Connor was 6 months old. Last year, Connor was 18 months old and Luc was 6 months old.

This year, Connor is 2 and a half and Luc is 18 months. It's fun to watch these future Tigers growing together.

We took Luc's bike. Obviously, it was a big hit. Here is a tyical LSU fan (just kidding, I mean she was acting like an LSU fan but she was really cute).

And we saw THE HOLI ONE

Our week back at home

Last Tuesday, we met Kim, Ryan, Tanya, Mia, and Ally at Extreme Fun. Luc had more fun this time than ever before. He was fearless. He would run to an obstacle with or without me.

He even climbed up the huge slide and came down by himself.

On Friday, Jennifer, Caden, and Caleb, Kristen and Annie, and Jessica, Kayla, and Baby Levi came over to swim. The kids were all a bit grumpy but Jennifer had watermelon to turn those frowns upside down.

Beach photo shoot

I took Luc out to the beach for some pictures one morning. Daddy and Heather helped me take some good pictures. We got some great pictures. I really wish I had encouraged Brian to come with us. We probably could have gotten a great family picture on the beach.

Another day at the beach

Here are a few more pictures from the beach. There are too many super cute ones not to post them.

We went fishing Saturday morning. We only went a couple of miles off shore. David caught a makeral and my Dad or Brian (not sure which one) caught a blue fish. Luc slept most of the time. When he woke up, he was so happy to be on the boat.

Luc looked like this...

I can't believe Luc is already 18 months old. The past year and a half has flown by. He is growing up too fast. He is like a little sponge. He is learning so much every day. He runs, climbs, jumps, dances, and spins. He has very good receptive and expressive language skills. He has more words than I can count and is using phrases rather than single words to communicate. A lot of his speech is unclear to unfamiliar listeners. That's not really a concern until he's 2-3 years old though.

Luc loves to read, especially unfamiliar books. He also loves his "Bible boop". He loves to sing songs and tries to sing along. His favorite game to play is probably hide-and-seek. He also loves to wrestle and ride the horsie (a.k.a. my back).

His doctors appointment went well today. Here are his measurements:
length 34 in (90%)
weight 25.6 lbs (45%)
head 97%

And here he is at 18 months...

Thank you Da!

We used to go shrimping several times every summer. We haven't been in a couple of years. We talked Da into getting his shrimping license again and taking us while we were home.

Captain Da taking us to the shrimp and Daddy and Brian in the background ready to do all the hard work.

Luc loved his first big "boap" ride. He hated his life jacket though. He kept asking us to take if off most of the trip.

Papa John showing Luc the dolphins that were following us.

This is one of the most relaxing and peaceful places.

In four drags, over two days, we only caught 6 shrimp.

Luc's first taste of sushi. He didn't really eat that.

Luc loved driving the boat. If we went to the front of the boat, he would want to get down and go back to drive.

Lacey, Bug, and Logan

When we're done sorting the shrimp from fish, crabs, etc, we feed the dolphins the scraps. Luc enjoyed this too. I was too scared to let him put a fish in the dolphins mouth but I let him throw fish out. He would smack his lips to call the dolphins. He learned what sound a dolphin makes too.

Thank you so much Da! I know you didn't want to go but we all really appreciated it. We all had tons of fun even if we didn't catch enough to eat for supper.

AND thank you Daddy and Brian for doing all the hard work!

Orange Beach, Alabama

I talk about the Alabama beaches all the time because I love them. Luc enjoyed the beach more this trip than he did in May. He still isn't crazy about the waves though.

The 3 of us enjoyed some beach time alone on Wednesday morning. It was stormy at the beach house when we drove off. When we got to the beach, about 5 mintues down the road, it was beautiful.

Out to sea was beautiful...

...while it was storming 5 miles away

Luc was reunited with his first girlfriend, Emma Greene

Da, Baboo, and my mom came down on Wednesday night. Poor Tux didn't know what he was in for when he got to the house. Luc tried to pick him up to carry him around the whole time. Not many dogs are smaller than him.

Bug rode her bike to the beach. She had to do some strecthes when she got back. I laughed at her stretch moves.

Luc did NOT like the waves. Brian said that he said "all done" the whole time they were at the water.

Then he headed for the boardwalk saying "home home home..."
