more MiMi and Granddaddy

Luc had so much fun with MiMi and Granddaddy. He really loved going to the pool with them. He swam, jumpped in, and laughed at Granddaddy going under water.
Evan and I relaxed in the shade

He also got to go to Chuck E Cheese. He isn't crazy about the games but he LOVES when Chuck E Cheese comes out.
He would not even look at the camera because he couldn't take his eyes off Chuck E Cheese

Fun with MiMi and Granddaddy

Saturday morning we went to the sprinkler park at Brushy Creek. Luc had so much fun.
Of course, Evan had to stay in the shade

Just letting everyone know that we're still here. We are super busy with a newborn, family visits, Luc being sick, packing for our move, preparing for Europe, Brian going out of town, blah blah blah...

I'll post as soon as I can.

Playing at the Bartley's new awesome house

Check out Levi's really cute "cheese"
I have no idea what these 4 had been doing but all we heard coming from the kid table was giggles.
Sprinklers, pool, bounce house, sand....Miss Jennifer's house is so much fun
Levi got a little thirsty

Finally here

We've been waiting a long time for these two to meet. Annie and Luc have had their big brother/big sister photo shoot back in the spring. Now it's little brother/little sister time. Evan 3 weeks; Meg 10 days
I think they were discussing what it's like being the big kids now.
So sweet

Playdate with Samuel

Busy busy busy

Luc had a playdate almost every day last week. I might eventually get around to putting pictures up of him playing with all of his friends but I don't know when that will be. I've been trying to nap or at least rest during his naptime. Evan enjoys waking up right as Luc is going to sleep which makes napping for me pretty difficult.

So for the playdates...Tuesday we went to Dylan's house. Luc had so much fun that he stayed when I left. He napped there so that he could play more that afternoon. It was really nice for Evan and I to come home and rest in peace and quiet.

This is the coolest riding toy. He also had fun riding on the roller coaster and jumping (or napping) on the trampoline.

Stomach trouble update

Evan has been having stomach problems. Last week he started having "firm" stools which is rare for breastfed babies. He was also spending 3-4 hours in the evening screaming. We tried so many different things...cutting dairy out of my diet, increasing water and fiber in my diet, trying to give him water with a little prune juice, the "I love you" massage, checking his tempurature rectally (supposedly it helps them poop). Nothing was working. That's when we went to the doctor on Monday when he decided to have two big poops while we were at the doctors office.

Tuesday he had two bowel movements early in the day but nothing in the afternoon or evening. He spent 4 hours that evening screaming. After he finally went to sleep, I had to wake him twice during the night to eat. He didn't want to eat though. Wednesday morning he still didn't poop but he did eat a little bit. I called the nurse to ask if I could give him probiotics. She said that is only for diarrhea which I know is no true. Later that morning, Evan threw up big time. I called the nurse back. A different nurse told me to come in. So what did the doctor ask, "Have you tried probiotics?".

So for now Evan may be colic and/or has reflux. We are trying probiotics and Mylanta for now. If it doesn't help, they will put him on Zantac. He has been pooping like a champ yesterday and today. The Mylanta seems to help when he is uncomfortable after eating too. We have had 2 nights without his poor painful screams now. Hopefully, this has fixed his problems.

Oh yeah, and he weighed 9 lb 10 oz which means he gained 5 oz from Mon to Wed.
This is a yawn not a cry. I think it's really cute.

My big baby

Luc asked to be "wrapped like a baby" then he waddled over to the baby carseat.

Growing and changing

Evan is changing every day. He has gotten so much bigger in the past three weeks. He seems to already be looking more like a baby than a newborn to me.

We went to the doctor today for some poop issues that we had been having. He weighs 9 lbs 5 oz now. The poop problem seemed to resolve itself while we were at the doctor's office. He had two pretty normal, big poops while there. I'm sure the nurse and doctor think I just like wasting my money. I promised them we had been having problems at home. Anyway, they aren't concerned because he eats well and is gaining weight...and they saw the two poops.

They also cautorized his umbilical cord because it still hasn't fallen off. I am so ready for it to be gone. I'm ready to graduate from sponge baths to bathtub baths. I think he will enjoy bathtime so much more when he can be in warm water. If it doesn't fall off this week, we have to go back next Monday.
He is starting to get tired of big brother loving on him so much too.

This is Luc's wall of art from school this year. We decorated one wall of his room wth his artwork.

2 weeks old

Evan's 2 week check up was today. He is a growing boy. I compared Luc's stats at this age. They are almost exactly the same. The biggest difference was the head size. Poor Luc has always had a big head.

Evan: weight 8lb 9 oz
height 21 in

Luc: weight 8lb 10 oz
height 21 in

Luc was being so sweet loving on his baby brother this morning and Evan didn't seem to mind.
