Cookie monster

We started giving Luc teething cookies every now and then...mostly so that we can eat at night together in peace (I got this idea from Kim). Anyway, I really watch him because once they get mushy enough peices will break off. I have to take the cookie away when it gets like that.
Obviously, he likes it

"Where did it go?"

"Give it back"

...And my personal favorite. Brian likes this one because he is mad at me and his bib says "Mommy loves me".

Here are a couple of videos. The first video is just from the first time he had one. The second video is from just a couple of days later. I have NO IDEA where he gets this temper from. We all know Brian and I don't have tempers. ;-)

Funny times

Luc thinks his Daddy and Mama are so funny. He even laughed so hard at the video after I videoed him and Brian.

First week back in Austin

Our first week back in Austin has been pretty busy. We have been unpacking and unpacking and unpacking and of course a little dusting...oh and some major baby proofing since Luc is in to EVERYTHING.

I FINALLY went to the dermatologist. I do have eczema. He prescribed me a sterniod cream and some super moisturizer (which I did not get because it cost $92 WITH insurance).

Luc went to the doctor today for his 6 month check-up today. He is doing great. He weighs 17 lb 4 oz which is in the 50th percentile and he is 27 in long which is the 75th percentile. It looks like our monster is starting to be more like the average-sized baby his age. He only got 3 shots this time and was such a trooper. He only cried for a minute. We did not get the Rotovirus vaccine since it made him so sick at 2 months and 4 months. His doctor said that he could be allergic to something in the vaccine and she did not want to risk that again.

Luc slept in his bed for the first time. He slept a whole lot better than I did. He slept about 7 hours before he woke up to eat. I woke up four times though and had to go check on him.

He also had prunes for the first time. It only took one feeding and he had a huge poop that afternoon. It was great. I know he probably felt so much better. I didn't know until today when the doctor told me that the cereal has iron in it which sometimes causes babies to be a bit constipated. Well prunes will do the trick. In the middle of eating though, he started scratching his nose. His hand hit the spoon so prunes ended up all over his face. Oh and Brian finally realizes why I always said breastfed newborns poop doesn't stick. He was gagging when he changed a diaper the other day...it was great. I miss those stickly breastfed baby poos.

This is his matching outfit and hat that Dr Kicklighter got for him when we saw him in Auburn.

He is scooting and sitting up by himself a lot more now. He is in to everything and he isn't even full-blown crawling yet. I am SO not ready for this.

I can't believe Luc is already 6 months old. Time really does fly by. Here is a little comparison of how much he's grown in 6 months.
Here he is in his swing at 10 days old

He is definitely outgrowing his swing...but he still likes it.

Leaving Alabama

Here are some pictures from when we were leaving. We are very happy to be back in our own beds and our home but we were really sad to leave. We had a great summer.

My mom's family had a "going away" party for us. Brian was in D.C. so he wasn't able to be there. It was lots of fun...and we had homemade ice cream!!!!!!!!!

Aaron and Luc

Andrew put a girl shirt on Luc to get back at me for dressing him up like a little girl when he was a baby...which I did a lot. We had no baby girls in our family for a while and he made such a beautiful baby girl.

Aunt Lana came to say bye too.

Atlanta

We came to Atlanta for a couple of days this week to visit my uncle and go to the aquarium. We had a lot of fun. I can't wait to bring Luc back next year. We also went to the Coca-Cola museum which is new and improved since I've been there last. We tasted about 60 sodas from different countries. It was just as awesome as it was when I was younger. My favorite is an apple flavored cola from Asia.

Luc was trying to grab the fish

The coolest picture ever. That is a whale shark behind us.

A whale shark again. An interesting bit of info...they shipped these whale sharks from Thaiwan UPS.

This is a HUGE tank

This was a fun little kid tunnel that you cou`ld crawl through.

Heather petting the tiger sharks and sting rays

This is what Luc thought about it

At the Coca-Cola museum

Luc liked the Polar Bear actually. He looks a bit scarey to me.

Whoa what a long day!
