Evan's first haircut

Evan's hair has gotten a bit out of control. He complains of "hair in mine eyes" quiet often.
So I finally gave in and took him in for his first cut.
After starting out in the red sports car, he discovered the pink jeep. The sweet lady cutting his hair was giving in to anything that kept him happy.
Before it ended, he was in Mama's lap with a cool motorcycle.
We still have lots of curls. The final look is much cuter than this picture. This is a great picture of his attitude by the time the lady was done. The overall experience was completely opposite of Luc's first haircut. We had no tears this time.

Tanks, Planes, Army Trucks...

A friend suggested that I take the boys to the tank museum at the military base. What a great suggestion! Thanks! We met some friends out there this morning. The kids had fun running around. Luc and Evan were very interested in all the trucks, planes, and machines. Luc is fascinated with motors and engines. He always wants to look at peoples car engines. There was a big aircraft engine at the museum. He checked it out and asked me lots of questions that I didn't know. We really need Uncle David around.
Evan referred to this guy as the "mean scawy guy". He didn't want to get close to him.
This was actually an attempt to take a picture with all the kids.
 Evan liked the Jeeps
My boys were not very cooperative for pictures today
There were tons of bluebonnets out there

These girls have no problem posing for a cute picture.
 Again my uncooperative child

 UGH Evan...

 Look at all these bluebonnets
It's times like these that make me hopeful for another brother for these two. They do have a lot of fun being rough together.

Thanks Kim and Tanya for meeting us out there.

Fun peacock park

We met some friends this morning at a nice quiet...well not so quiet peacock park. These boys had so much fun and were so excited to play together. They loved watching/chasing the peacocks. There were also really nice walking trails. We went on a pretty "scary hike through a forest" where three little boys protected their mamas from snakes. It was cute. Evan was quite a handful though. He wanted to swim in the ponds, run in the creeks, climb on the jagged rocks.

Strawberry Picking

We love going to the strawberry farm in the spring. We went with the Browns a few days ago. We picked LOTS of strawberries. Some were very interesting looking.

It was a lot of muddy fun
This may be my favorite picture
This is also a favorite. I love these two blondies.

Evan told this goat "Eat mine boot goat"
We had a lot of fun.

Surprise!

I wanted so badly to have this really creative, cute blog post about Luc and Evan becoming big brothers but I'm just too tired. So here is Luc, with his best surprise face. Baby #3 will be arriving mid-Sept. We are all very excited. Luc is so sure...will not even consider anything but...it being a girl...and that her name may be Samuel. We have told him over and over that it can very likely be a baby brother.
After I took one of Luc, he wanted to take one of me holding the picture. I needed to be holding it a tiny bit higher but I think he did a great job. The camera is about as big as him. I may have a future photographer here. So here I am at 12 weeks pregnant. I've been nauseous again but not as bad as the other times. I've been really tired. I find that I am quiet winded by the time I get to the top of all of our stairs at our apartment. I've also noticed that I am growing at a much faster rate than before.
For those of you concerned... I have had a couple of ultrasounds. They considered me high risk at first because of all the drama with pregnancy with Evan. At 9 weeks, I had a subchorionic hemorrhage, which I also had with Evan. I had no symptoms from it though. The only way we knew was because of the early ultrasound. At 11 weeks, the subchorionic hemorrhage was less than half the size it had been two weeks before. I do have a venus lake on the placenta however they are not concerned unless I start bleeding. They are now treating me as a normal pregnancy. I only have to see the doctor every 4 weeks like normal. Wahoo!

Camp out in the living room

I have been promising Luc a "sleepover/campout" in the living room. I finally gave in and did it. We rented the Smurfs, stayed up way past bedtime, and slept in the living room. Luc thought it was so cool. By the morning, Evan ended up in his bed and I ended up on the couch. We were all super tired the next day but it was worth it.

Big Boy

After a few weeks of Evan crawling out of his bed whenever he decides to, we decided to turn his crib into a "big boy" bed. The problem now is that we can't find a bed rail that fits well. Any suggestions? He falls out every night. It scared him the first night but now he just sleeps through the fall. We find him on the floor sleeping a lot. On a side note, he loves that he can put himself to bed. He told me the other day at nap "No Mom. I do it  myself." and he pushed me out of his room. Where'd my baby go?
